The multi-talented wife of charismatic Ayushmann Khurrana, Tahira Kashyap is leaving no creative stone unturned as she now ventures into the field of direction with her short film ‘Toffee’. Tahira, who is a writer and a mother of two beautiful children Virajveer and Varushka, has now stepped into direction. In an exclusive conversation with TimesOfIndia.com, Tahira opened up about her short film ‘Toffee’ and expressed her joy of fulfilling her dream.
Talking about her project Tahira said, “As the name of the film ‘Toffee’ suggests, it’s a sweet candy which is a trip down my memory lane as I belong to Punjab and the film too is based in the outskirts of Punjab (Jalandhar). It’s a beautiful story which revolves around two girls with a social message which is sure to connect and touch your heart. The film is actually based on a real-life incident from my childhood and since there were no other options like internet the only way to explore the world was through the eyes of your friend.”
When quizzed about juggling between professions and trying out her hand at direction, she replied saying, “I always wanted to try my hand at direction, in fact, I had recently directed a play in Delhi which inspired me to move a step ahead. After completing my graduation, I have been exploring different aspects of media from being a lecturer, to managing a company and to working in a radio station but what remained with me since the very beginning was writing, as I love to write and have been doing it since my college days.”
