Supreme Court Slams Mamata Benarji’s about Petition on Aadhaar


Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has experienced a backlash at the Supreme Court in the case of Aadhaar petition. The Supreme Court has asked  how the state can file a petition against central decisions. Supreme Court also ordered an appropriate explanation.

Recently, the Center has decided to link Aadhaar to various welfare schemes. Furthermore, Aadhaar is mandatory for bank accounts and mobile numbers. But many petitions have been filed in the Supreme Court. The Bengal government has filed a petition against the central decision. The Supreme Court has today started an inquiry.

Senior advocate Kapil Sibal had appeared in the debate on behalf of the government in the west. The Supreme Court has expressed displeasure over the petition. Asked how a state government would challenge the commands of Parliament. Suggesting an appropriate explanation. People should file petition against central decisions but not states. However Mamata Banerjee can personally file the petition as an individual stated the supreme court.

The court also issued notices to the Central seeking another petition against Aadhaar for mobile number. The Court has suggested that the Center should give its response within four weeks. The telecom operators were also asked to clarify.
